Guangdong Chigo Air Conditioning Co. Ltd. is located in the Nanhai District of Foshan, Guangdong Province. This is a large-scale modern enterprise group that professionalizes in manufacturing and marketing AC complete machines and accessories, covering a wide business scope of household appliances, information, electronics, chemical industry, construction, material distribution, medical science and biological engineering. The company occupies an area of nearly three million square meters, has more than 16,000 staff, with an annual AC production capacity of eight million sets and a total production value of 4.5 billion RMB Yuan. It controls more than 50 enterprises, has a complete industrial chain and more than 90% self-sufficiency rate in spare parts supply.
More than 300 AC products manufactured by Chigo fall into three main categories of window, wall-mounted and floor types. In 2003, it developed a series of new products with several featured technologies including intelligent multi-colored display screen, fresh air exchange and Broad-spectrum antiseptic technology. Chigo manufactures ten major series of products, including the CMV intelligent inversion type central air conditioning system, the ceiling cassette type units, the air-cooled chillers, the water-cooled chillers, the fan coil type units, the suspension cabinet type units, the packaged units and the modular type units.
Chigo products are among the first group of products exempted from inspection in China, the first group of products granted with energy-saving certification in China and achieved a series of domestic and international authoritative certifications and honors including China Compulsory Certification (3C certification), the CE certification of the European Community, the CB certification of the IEEC, the T¨1V, GS and EMC certifications of Germany, the safety certification of Australia, the energy efficiency label of Australia, the Grade 1 energy-efficiency label of Hong Kong, the safety certification of Hong Kong. Chigo uses the Mitsubishi and Hitachi compressors for its air conditioners and there are more than procedures of tests and inspections during the production of complete machine from assembling to delivering. The testing and inspection facilities and equipments are of top quality and made by Yokogawa and Chino in Japan to guarantee that the products have excellent quality.
Technology is the primary productive force. Chigo has invited 50 doctorate tutors from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qinghua University, Beijing University, Fudan University and other authoritative research institutes and higher education colleges to form a Technological Consultation Board. Chigo has a technical team that is composed of more than 400 professionals including several doctors and establishes Chigo Electronics Research Institute, Nanhai Sino-Japanese Mitsubishi Semi-Conductor Development Center, Hi-Tech Research Institute. The technologies of audio intelligent controls and pressure-sensitive safe resistors developed by Chigo have achieved national patents in China.
The marketing network of Chigo covers 31 domestic provinces and municipalities in China and more than 200 international countries and regions. The sales of Chigo register an annual growth rate of 50% and the turnover in 2004 was 2.8 million units, making Chigo one of the Top Five AC manufacturers in China. The export value was nearly RMB 1.8 billion and Chigo then became one of the two main exporters of AC products in China. The rapid growth of strength attracts more multi-national enterprise groups for Chigo, who cooperates with Hyundai Group, the largest South Korean enterprise, in producing Hyundai air conditioners, and the cooperation between Chigo and Mitsubishi of Japan has been lasted for ten years. Other multiple-national enterprises including US Whirlpool and LG of South Korea also contacted with Chigo for potential cooperation.
In the recent years, Chigo established 31 provincial after-sale service centers, 42 municipal after-sale service centers and an after-sale service network of 1,300 stations in China to achieve a universal national warranty service. The Technological Consultation Board composed of 50 doctorate tutors as well as Chigo after-sale service training base lays a solid foundation for quick, professional and systematic after-sale services. Chigo promises one years warranty for complete AC units and five years warranty for compressors, The warranty allows the end-users worry-free and contributes to the first-rate cost-effectiveness of Chigo AC products.
