As far as parts and components are concerned, U.S. Department of Commerce will organize an exhibition delegation for the first time while exhibition delegations will come from ten other countries. Delphi Corporation, Denso, and Bosch will all exhibit their latest products and technologies. Magna International Inc., the third largest supplier of automotive parts and components in the world, will be one of the suppliers of automotive parts and components present on the Exhibition with the largest scale.
Environmental protection and energy conservation becoming hotspots
With the Exhibition as a platform to issue the latest automotive technologies, environment-protecting and energy-conserving vehicle types become hotspots.
Honda will exhibit its latest results from research and development activities concerning energy conservation and environmental protection, including the FCX Concept - a new generation fuel cell concept vehicle and Home Energy Station. Lexus, a luxury vehicle brand of Toyota Motor Corporation, has brought its brand new mixed power products like LS600h and GS450h, which will strike a pose in China for the first time. SAIC will bring its two new energy vehicle types to the exhibition: a mixed power car developed independently based on the platform for Roewe 750 and the fourth generation fuel cell car with a brand of "Shanghai". Chery will exhibit Tiggo 6, a concept car satisfying the Europe 5 discharge standard.
As introduced by the sponsor, at least five vehicle types will be issued for the first time in the world on Auto Shanghai 2007: Audi's concept car S07 and Kia's brand new Cerato Hatchback besides two vehicle types of General Motors. Moreover, it is understood that BMW will also launch its three products launched for the first time in Asia, namely the brand new BMW X5, the brand new BMW 3 convertible saloon and the brand new BMW 3 Coupe.
Homegrown brands launching attacks with efforts
China's automotive enterprises with homegrown brands behaved outstandingly on the Auto China 2006 and they are also well prepared for the Auto Shanghai 2007.
It is reported that SAIC's Roewe 750 will strike a pose and W2, a Roewe concept car to be put into production will be the largest highlight on the booth of SAIC Roewe. Chery will take part in the Exhibition with a strong lineup of 30 vehicle types and thus become a participant with the largest exhibition scale among Chinese enterprises with their respective self-owned brands during this Exhibition. In the meantime, Chery's 10 breakthrough new technologies including four technologies in application of new energy resources, four in the brand new power assembly, and two human-oriented technologies, will be exhibited in the 30 vehicle types to be exhibited. In this around, Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Limited will take part in the Auto Shanghai 2007 in a form of "7 plus 7", which means 7 types of passenger vehicles covering mini-cars, A-grade and B-grade cars and 7 types of naturally aspirated engines or turbocharged engines with different discharge capacities. ChangAn Automobile (Group) Liability Co., Ltd. sent out a lineup of 25 vehicle types and ChangAn Jiexun, a kind of multi-purpose vehicle with a self-owned brand that has just left the production line, will come into the market with the price declared. Great Wall Motor Company Limited has also exhibited its strongest lineup in history including 10 vehicle types and a type of engine. The five types of engines produced by BYD Auto Co., Ltd. will strike a pose together. Dongfeng commercial vehicles will not only send out a line-up of heavy-duty truck with "Dongfeng Tianlong" playing a leading role but move its booth into an exhibition museum, thus becoming the only commercial vehicle company to exhibit its products in the museum.

To make it possible for the Shanghai International Automobile & Manufacturing Technology Exhibition to develop from a "large" automobile exhibition into a "major" automobile exhibition, a large scale is a must but the quality of services and the level of management should also catch up with the scales.
